Salobreña, Costa Tropical
All of the properties advertised here for both long term rental and holiday lets are in the old Moorish Village of Salobreña, on the Costa Tropical. The old part of the Village is built onto a rock overlooking both the sea and the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. Salobreña Village is dominated by the 13th Century Castle built by the Moors to defend the Village against various invaders. The Village is surrounded by Sugar cane fields and farmland which has helped it to retain its character and appeal. What you will not find in Salobreña are the high rise apartments, numerous seafront hotels with blaring discos and row after row of Red Lion British Pubs selling all day breakfasts, as is commonly found on the Costa del Sol.
What Salobreña does have however are beautiful safe beaches with secluded coves nearby, with many opportunities for walking, cycling and bird watching. The Village does boast numerous good quality Tapas bars throughout the Village and near the seafront. There are several very good quality restaurants here as well as the Spanish budget Chinguritos on the beach. Horse-riding and scuba diving is close by. There is a golf course at Motril beach about 10 minutes drive away. Skiing is normally available from November to April in the Sierra Nevada Mountains less than an hour drive away.
Malaga airport is just over one hours drive away to the West. Granada airport is under an hours drive to the North. Both are well served by budget airlines. Both airports have bus services to Salobreña. |
